JiffyTax is owned and operated by Claudia Chopik, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
We collect your email address when you sign up, and financial data you enter such as receipt amounts, vendor names, dates, and invoice information. When you upload receipt images, those images are temporarily processed to extract HST information.
We use your information to provide the JiffyTax service, process subscription payments, and send service-related emails. We do not use your financial data for any purpose other than providing you with the service.
When you upload a receipt or invoice image or PDF, it is processed in two steps. First, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API solely to extract tax information such as HST amounts, vendor names, and dates — Anthropic does not store images permanently or use them to train AI models. Second, your photo or document is securely uploaded directly to Supabase Storage so that it is accessible across all your devices. Only you can access your own documents.
Your receipt and invoice data is stored securely in Supabase, a cloud database hosted in the United States. Receipt and invoice photos and PDFs are stored securely using Supabase Storage. Extracted information such as vendor names, dates, and HST amounts is stored in our secure database. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as required to provide the service. Third party service providers we use include: Paddle (payment processing), Supabase (data storage and user authentication), and Anthropic (AI receipt scanning). Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data protection standards.
Payments are processed by Paddle. JiffyTax does not store your credit card information. Please refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support [at] jiffytax.ca
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will only send you marketing emails if you have given us express consent. You may unsubscribe at any time.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
